Momentum Costs $10 Million in W.A.
Sat Feb 16, 2008 at 12:28:41 AM PST
This week it seems to be sinking in with Washingtonians that -gasp- our primary doesn't count!
I know many are questioning the use of the caucus system lately, not only people here in Washington State, but certain candidates as well.
And while I take serious issue with my little, tiny state being called "unimportant" by Mark Penn, I can see why people would take issue with the caucus system.
I'm not trying to debate the value of primaries vs. caucuses, but I would like to know - Why have both?

Where in the World is Hillary Clinton?
Fri Feb 01, 2008 at 12:27:27 PM PST
In gearing up for coverage of Seattle’s democratic caucuses, I must admit I’m having a heck of a time tracking down any campaign leads for Hillary Clinton in the State of Washington, much less campaign offices here in our Emerald City.
In fact, I was told by someone at Clinton campaign headquarters in V.A. that there aren’t any officials currently here in Seattle, and the woman who answered the phone was “unsure if there were likely to be any in the future.”
Now I realize our “tiny” little state isn’t one of the Super Tuesday states but c’mon Hill, where’s the love?

Behind the Times: Annoyed w/the daily news
Fri Jan 18, 2008 at 12:37:12 AM PST
I wasn't going to write about this, but it's been bugging me for a couple of days.
I like reading the paper. I like my city and I enjoy reading my local news over coffee, despite the house fires and fatal crashes. But this week I am annoyed by the Seattle Times. Here I am trying my best to stay informed about my community and the national election that we are all following, and the Seattle Times gives methis on Tuesday, on the front page.
I have a few problems with this story, but mostly it strikes me as just another example of lazy reporting and less than insightful journalism. I've been noticing it a lot more lately around here for some reason....

Obamarama Revisited
Fri Jan 11, 2008 at 12:52:39 PM PST
Okay, if I read one more diary about how Obama is far too optimistic, idealistic or inexperienced to be the next Prez. I'll surely puke.
My hunch is that the same people who are faulting Obama for brimming with hope, are the very same ones who have been obsessing over Hillary's tears, and less recently, the salon habits of Edwards.
